Immigration Psychological Evaluations
Now providing psychological evaluations for immigrants seeking legal citizenship in the United States. My evaluations are comprehensive and well-written, in order to best support your case and your journey towards citizenship. Evaluations entail two meetings between 1-1.5 hours in length, followed by a 10-12 page document detailing the evidence supporting your case. Interpreting services available upon request. I provide evaluations to clients located in California, Virginia, Washington DC, and Washington state.
Different Cases I Support:
-
Extreme Hardship Waivers
Hardship waivers may be granted if the removal of an undocumented immigrant would cause “extreme hardship” to a family member who is a US citizen. An evaluation may demonstrate the psychological impact if you are to be separated long-term from a family member, or if you were to relocate with your family member to their country of origin.
-
Asylum Cases
Psychological evaluations can be helpful to individuals seeking asylum in the United States due to having suffered persecution or well-founded fear of persecution in your country of origin. An evaluation documents the psychological evidence that returning to your country of origin could contribute to persecution or continued distress.
-
VAWA Cases
The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) provides a pathway to victims of domestic abuse of all genders self-petition for legal citizenship. A psychological evaluation can assess for the signs of domestic violence, as well as the evidence of power and control in an abusive relationship, that might be pertinent for your case.
-
U-Visas & T-Visas
A U/T Visa allows an undocumented immigrant to self-petition for legal status if they are a victim of a crime that occurred in the US. A T-Visa is specific to victims of human trafficking. A psychological evaluation can be a critical component in these cases, as they help establish the impact of mental and emotional abuse you experienced as a result of this crime.
